Scope

This document describes the determination methods of the inherent filtration and filtration material quality of X-ray tube assemblies, stipulates the conformity declarations and marking requirements of X-ray tube assemblies in the accompanying documents, and provides guidance on filtration materials and conformity declaration requirements. This document applies to X-ray tube assemblies and filtration materials used in medical diagnostic applications with a high voltage of less than 150 kV. For high voltages greater than 50 kV, this document only applies to X-ray tube assemblies with tungsten or tungsten alloy targets.
