Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for installation couplers used for permanent connections in fixed installations, including their classification, marking and documentation, dimensions, structure, mechanical performance, electrical performance, and thermal performance. This document applies to two- to five-wire installation couplers with or without grounding, with a rated voltage not exceeding 500 V AC or DC, a rated connection capacity not exceeding 10 mm2, and a rated current not exceeding 32 A, used for permanent connections in electrical installations. Installation couplers with additional contact voltage are not within the scope of this document. In this document, an installation coupler consists of a female connector and a male connector, used for permanent connections. Such couplers are not intended for connection and disconnection under load conditions, nor for connection and disconnection except during initial installation and reconfiguration or maintenance of wiring systems. This means that installation couplers are designed for infrequent connection and disconnection operations. Installation couplers are not suitable for socket systems, nor for lamp connection devices (DCL) in accordance with GB/T 31463 (all parts), or lamp support couplers (LSC). Installation couplers that meet the requirements of this document are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, where the ambient air temperature typically does not exceed an upper limit of +40℃ and an average of +35℃ within 24 hours, with a lower limit of -5℃.
