Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for installation couplers used for permanent connections in fixed installations, including their classification, marking, documentation, dimensions, structure, mechanical performance, electrical performance, and thermal performance. This standard applies to installation couplers with 2 to 5 lines, including the provided grounding line, with a rated voltage not exceeding and including 500 V AC and a rated connection capacity not exceeding and including 10 mm². They are intended for permanent connections of indoor electrical equipment. Installation couplers with additional contact voltages beyond the power supply voltage are not covered by this standard. Note 1: The installation couplers specified in this standard are used in prefabricated buildings, in installation cavities such as suspended floors and ceilings, or in cable tray systems, cable ladder systems, cable conduit systems, and cable trunking systems, or in commercial exhibition rooms, partition walls, and any similar applications, or in furniture complying with GB 16895.29. Note 2: Except for the power supply voltage, this standard may also be used to guide installation couplers with additional contact voltages (such couplers can refer to the technical requirements in this standard). An installation coupler consists of a female connector device and a male connector device. Except during initial installation, reconfiguration, or maintenance of the installation coupler's wiring system, the male installation coupler device intended for permanent connections is not designed for connection and disconnection under load, nor is it solely intended for connection and disconnection. This means that the installation coupler is designed for infrequent use. Installation couplers are not suitable for socket systems, nor for lamp connection devices complying with GB/T 31463, nor for lamp-matched couplers.
