Scope

This document specifies the test method for measuring hand-transmitted vibration at the handle of portable hand hammers, and determines the type test procedure for determining the magnitude of vibration at the handle when operating the hand hammer in the type test state. The results obtained are used to compare the vibration magnitude of machines of the same type but different models.
This document is applicable to engraving pens and masonry hammers driven by compressed air or other means (see Chapter 5).
This document is not applicable to hammer-type machines used for demolition operations in construction projects, or to air chisels used for metal materials.
Note: To avoid confusion between "power tools" and "insertion tools", this document uses "machines" throughout to replace "power tools".
