GB/T 24131.1-2018 Rubber,raw—Determination of volatile matter content—Part 1:Hot-mill method and oven method
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This part of GB/T 24131.1 specifies two methods for determining the volatile content in raw rubber using the hot roll method and the oven method.
1.2 These methods are applicable to the determination of the volatile content of R-group rubbers listed in GB/T 5576. R-group rubbers refer to rubbers containing unsaturated carbon chains, such as natural rubber and rubbers synthesized at least partially from dienes. These methods can also be applied to the determination of other rubbers, but in this case, it must be verified that the change in quality is solely due to the loss of actual volatile substances and not due to rubber degradation.
[STFZ]1.3[STBZ] The hot roll method is not suitable for natural rubber and synthetic rubbers that are difficult to handle on the hot roll, nor is it suitable for fragmented and powdered rubbers.
[STFZ]1.4[STBZ] The results obtained by these methods may not be identical. Therefore, in cases of dispute, oven method A shall be the reference method.
