GB/T 17888.4-2008 Safety of machinery—Permanent means of access to machinery—Part 4:Fixed ladders
Basic Information
Scope
This part applies to all machinery (fixed and mobile) that must have fixed access facilities.
The purpose of this part is to define the general requirements for safe access to the machines mentioned in GB/T 15706.2. GB 17888.1 provides recommendations for the proper selection of access facilities when access to the machine is required and cannot be directly obtained from the ground or floor.
This part applies to fixed straight ladders that are components of the machine.
This part may also apply to access facilities used to enter machinery installed in buildings as part of the building, assuming the main function of this part of the building is to provide access facilities for entering the machine.
This part also applies to straight ladders that are not permanently fixed to the machine and may need to be removed or moved to the side during certain operations of the machine (for example, replacing tools on a large press).
For major hazards in this part, see Chapter 4 of GB 17888.1—2008.
