GB/T 17888.1-2008 Safety of machinery—Permanent means of access to machinery—Part 1:Choice of a fixed means of access between two levels

Scope

This part specifies the general requirements for safe access to machinery as mentioned in GB/T 15706.2, and provides recommendations for correctly selecting access facilities when it is necessary to enter the machinery and cannot be done directly from the ground or floor.
This part applies to all fixed and mobile machinery with fixed access facilities.
This part applies to access facilities that are components of the machinery.
This part can also be applied to access facilities installed in buildings as part of the building (for example: work platforms, walkways, ladders), assuming that the main function of this part of the building is to provide fixed facilities for accessing the machinery.
This part also applies to access facilities that are not permanently fixed to the machinery, and some operations of the machinery may require removing or moving them to the side (for example: replacing tools on a large press).
This part does not apply to elevators, movable lifting platforms, or other devices specifically designed for lifting people between two levels of a plane.
