GB/T 7247.1-2024 Safety of laser products—Part1:Equipment classification and requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This document applies to the safety of laser radiation from laser products with wavelengths ranging from 180nm to 1mm.
In a vacuum ultraviolet environment, laser products with laser radiation wavelengths less than 180nm (in the vacuum ultraviolet band) are not included in this document, as the laser beams are typically sealed in a vacuum environment, and the potential hazards of laser radiation are minimized.
Laser products can be single lasers with or without an independent power supply, or complex optical, electrical, or mechanical systems equipped with one or more lasers. Laser products are generally used for demonstrations of physical and optical phenomena, material processing, data readout and storage, information transmission and display, and so on. These systems have been applied in industries, commerce, entertainment, research, education, medicine, and consumer products.
Laser products sold to other manufacturers as system components may not comply with this document, as the final product itself will need to comply with this document. However, if the laser system in the laser product remains a functional device after being separated from the end product, then the removed laser system must comply with the requirements of this document.
Note 1: A functional laser system does not require tools to operate it.
