GB 7247.1-2012 Safety of laser products—Part 1:Equipment classification and requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This section applies to the safety of laser radiation from laser products with a wavelength range of 180 nm to 1 mm.
A laser product may be a single laser with or without an independent power supply, or a complex optical, electrical, or mechanical system equipped with one or more lasers. Laser products are typically used for demonstrating physical and optical phenomena, material processing, data reading and storage, information transmission, and display. These systems are used in industries, commerce, entertainment, research, education, medicine, and consumer products.
Laser products sold to other manufacturers as system components may not comply with this section, as the final product itself will be subject to this section. However, if the laser system in the laser product can operate independently after being separated from the equipment, the removed unit should meet the requirements of this section.
