Scope

This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the compatibility of materials that come into contact with oxygen in anesthesia and respiratory equipment and their components, under normal or single-fault conditions where the gas pressure exceeds 50 kPa.
This standard applies to anesthesia and respiratory equipment, such as: medical gas piping systems, pressure reducers, terminals, medical supply units, flexible connections, flow meter devices, anesthesia workstations, and ventilators.
