This part of YY/T 0873 specifies the characteristic coding numbers for carburizing needles, polishing needles, cutting tools, and surgical instruments. These codes refer to the tooth shape type of the working part of the instruments. These three digits appear in the 10th to 12th positions of the 15-digit total number group and constitute the fourth group of three digits in the 15-digit total number group.
