Scope

This part of YY/T 0873 specifies the characteristic code numbers for diamond rotary instruments and diamond-coated cutting discs used in dentistry. The three-digit numbers in this part constitute the fourth group of three digits in the 15-digit number series, and the coding principles are explained in YY/T 0873.1 and YY/T 0873.2.
This part also provides a three-digit number in addition to the 15-digit coding number. This three-digit number can be used to provide additional information about diamond rotary instruments and diamond-coated cutting discs. Whether to adopt this additional information is at the discretion of the dental equipment manufacturers.
