Scope

This section specifies the determination of trace benzene in industrial styrene by gas chromatography.
This section is applicable to the determination of benzene in industrial styrene with a content range of 0.2 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg.
This section is not intended to address safety issues related to its use. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with relevant national regulations.
Note: Styrene monomer is flammable. It will undergo exothermic polymerization when in contact with peroxides, inorganic acids, and aluminum trichloride. High concentrations of liquid styrene and its vapors are irritating to the eyes and respiratory system.
