Scope

This standard specifies the energy efficiency grade, energy efficiency limits, and test methods for room air conditioners.
This standard applies to room air conditioners that use air-cooled condensers and fully enclosed electric compressors, with a rated cooling capacity of no more than 14,000 W and a climate type of T1, as well as low-ambient-temperature air-source heat pump fans with a nominal heating capacity of no more than 14,000 W.
This standard does not apply to portable air conditioners, multi-unit air conditioning systems, and ducted air supply air conditioners.
