Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, models, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of dry powder fire extinguishers. This standard applies to dry powder fire extinguishers with a content of the first main component of not less than 75%; it does not apply to ultra-fine dry powder fire extinguishers specified in GA 578 and Class D dry powder fire extinguishers specified in GA 979.
