GB/T 20896-2007 Small craft─Watertight cockpits and quick-draining cockpits
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for stern cabins and concave bodies specifically designated as "watertight" or "rapidly draining" on small boats with a hull length of no more than 24m. This standard does not set requirements for the size and shape of stern cabins or concave bodies, nor does it stipulate when or where they should be used. Only gravity-based water drainage is considered, rather than drainage via pumps or other methods. Note 1: The term "rapidly draining stern cabin" has been chosen to distinguish it from the commonly understood "self-draining stern cabin", where water can drain overboard under certain conditions, but the drainage speed, bottom height, or rail height are not specified. Note 2: Examples of single-plane stern cabin bottoms are provided in Appendix A.
