Scope
This standard specifies a method for detecting residual stress (including applied stress) in copper and copper alloy processing materials by accelerated testing with ammonia gas. Such stress can cause damage to the materials due to stress corrosion cracking during use or storage. This standard is applicable to the inspection of residual stress in brass processing materials, and also to the inspection of assemblies and components (with limited dimensions).
