Scope

This standard specifies the acoustic performance, test methods, and evaluation criteria for alarms used on earthmoving machinery, in order to prevent personnel from being injured by potential hazards during the movement (forward or reverse) of self-propelled machines. This test is conducted under the stationary working conditions of the machine. The alarm performance of the machine is a comprehensive function of the design of the alarm, the surrounding conditions, the alarm voltage, and the arrangement of the alarm relative to the machine parts on the machine. This test method verifies the acoustic alarm generated by these comprehensive factors. This standard applies to earthmoving machinery defined in GB/T 8498.
