Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and content of purchase orders (or contracts) for alumina (Al2O3).
This standard applies to alumina used in the production of metallic aluminum by molten salt electrolysis, as well as to alumina used as raw materials for the production of corundum, ceramics, refractory products, and other alumina-based chemical products.
