Scope

This standard specifies the principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, test procedures, result calculation, and precision of the Aschoff method and the Coulomb method for determining the total sulfur content of carbon materials. In the case of arbitration analysis, the Aschoff method should be used. This standard is applicable to the determination of the total sulfur content of carbon materials, including graphite electrodes, graphite chips, charcoal blocks, graphite anodes, carbon electrodes, pastes, carbonized materials, calcined anthracite, and calcined petroleum coke.
