Scope

This part specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage for stationary carrier energy meters.
This part applies to newly manufactured stationary carrier energy meters (hereinafter referred to as meters) with low-voltage power line carrier reading function, used for measuring AC energy with a rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz, and their type tests.
The requirements for reliability are covered by the IEC 62059 series of standards.
Unless otherwise specified by the user, the meters are designed as indoor meters.
