GB/T 14598.27-2025 Measuring relays and protection equipment—Part 27:Product safety requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the product safety requirements for measuring relays and protective devices with a rated AC voltage of up to 1,000 V, or a rated DC voltage of up to 1,500 V. Equipment exceeding these limits shall comply with the electrical clearance, creepage distance, and withstand voltage test requirements specified in GB/T 16935.1.
This document stipulates the basic safety requirements to minimize the risks of fire, electric shock, and damage to users and property. This document only specifies the safety requirements of the products and does not address the functional characteristics of the equipment.
This document covers all methods of installing and using the equipment in cabinets, racks, and panels. This document applies to auxiliary devices used with measuring relays and protective devices, such as shunts, series resistors, transformers, auxiliary control panels, displays, etc.
Auxiliary equipment used in conjunction with measuring relays and protective devices, such as network switches, may need to comply with additional safety requirements.
This document does not specify the implementation of individual devices, circuits, and components.
This document applies to the safety design of equipment under at least the following environmental conditions:
—— Indoor use;
—— Altitude not exceeding 2,000 m (in accordance with GB/T 14598.2);
—— Rated operating temperature range (in accordance with GB/T 14598.2);
—— Maximum external relative humidity (in accordance with GB/T 14598.2);
—— Operating range of auxiliary excitation voltage (in accordance with GB/T 14598.2);
—— Applicable power supply overvoltage category;
—— Applicable expected environmental pollution level (level 2 pollution in most cases).
