Scope
This part of GB/T 14598 specifies the product safety requirements for measuring relays and protective devices with a rated AC voltage of up to 1,000 V and a rated frequency of up to 65 Hz, or a rated DC voltage of up to 1,500 V. Equipment exceeding these limits shall comply with the electrical clearance, creepage distance, and withstand voltage test requirements specified in GB/T 16935.1.
This part details the basic safety requirements to minimize the risks of fire, electric shock, and harm to users.
This part does not address the safety requirements for equipment installation. It includes all methods of installing and using equipment on cabinets, racks, and panels, as well as reinspection. It also applies to auxiliary devices used with measuring relays and protective devices, such as shunts, series resistors, transformers, etc.
Auxiliary devices used in conjunction with measuring relays and protective devices may require additional safety requirements.
This part only specifies the safety requirements for products and does not address the functional characteristics of the equipment.
