This standard specifies the test methods for the detachment of the shoe upper from the outsole, the separation between the sole layers, and the tearing or damage of the shoe upper or sole. This standard also prescribes the aging conditions used for production control.
This standard applies to all footwear (adhesive shoes, vulcanized shoes, injection-molded shoes, etc.) that require the determination of the bonding strength between the sole and the upper, and are complete shoes (closed shoes).
Note 1: The bonding strength should be measured at the edge closest to the bonding site.
Note 2: Shoes with nail assembly (such as those using nails or screws) or sewing do not need to be tested.
