Scope
This standard specifies the design and calculation of belt conveyors, which are used to determine the basic parameters and layout design of the main components of belt conveyors, such as drive devices, braking devices, tensioning devices, rollers, idlers, and conveyor belts. This standard applies to belt conveyors used for transporting bulk materials. This standard does not apply to the design and calculation of special belt conveyors such as wire rope-driven belt conveyors, tubular belt conveyors, and air-cushion belt conveyors. For the design and calculation of the general parts of these special belt conveyors, reference can be made to this standard.
