Scope

This standard specifies the ordering guidelines for detecting castings using X-ray and γ-ray radiographic film methods, the grading of radiographic techniques, general principles, X-ray penetration techniques, negative film evaluation, and detection records and reports. This standard applies to the X-ray detection of castings produced by steel, copper and copper alloys, nickel and nickel alloys, aluminum and aluminum alloys, titanium and titanium alloys, and various casting processes. The X-ray detection of castings made from other metal materials can also be used as a reference.
