Scope

This part of GB/T 21283 describes rotary shaft labyrinth seals with sealing elements made of thermoplastic materials, which are based on thermoplastic materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and are fabricated through appropriate assembly processes. This part specifies general performance tests that can be used to assess the quality of rotary shaft labyrinth seals with sealing elements made of thermoplastic materials. It also stipulates requirements for dynamic tests, auxiliary low-temperature tests, and materials. This part applies to rotary shaft labyrinth seals with sealing elements made of thermoplastic materials (hereinafter referred to as sealing rings). Note: GB/T 21283 and GB/T 13871 complement each other. GB/T 13871 specifies elastomeric sealing rings.
