Scope
This standard specifies the high-performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of artificial colorants such as lemon yellow, amaranth red, indigo blue, carmine red, sunset yellow, tartrazine, bright blue, and erythritol red in canned fruits. This standard is applicable to the determination of artificial colorants such as lemon yellow, amaranth red, indigo blue, carmine red, sunset yellow, tartrazine, bright blue, and erythritol red in canned fruits. The detection limits of this standard are 0.300 mg/kg for lemon yellow, 0.300 mg/kg for amaranth red, 0.300 mg/kg for indigo blue, 0.300 mg/kg for carmine red, 0.150 mg/kg for sunset yellow, 0.150 mg/kg for tartrazine, 0.100 mg/kg for bright blue, and 0.150 mg/kg for erythritol red.
