GB 25286.8-2010 Non-electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres—Part 8:Protection by liquid immersion "k"

Scope

1.1 This part specifies the requirements for the design, structure, testing, and marking of equipment using immersion-type "k" to prevent potential ignition sources from becoming effective ignition sources for protection at different levels.
1.2 Immersion-type "k" can be used as a separate protection method against ignition, or it can be used in combination with other types of ignition-prevention protection listed in GB 25286.1. It provides protection for equipment classified as Class I, Ma and Mb, Class II, Ga, Gb, and Gc, and Class III, Da, Db, and Dc according to the ignition hazard assessment.
1.3 This part applies to immersion-type protection for non-electrical equipment. It supplements the requirements of GB 25286.1.
1.4 This part does not apply to ignition-prevention protection for electrical equipment. For these requirements, refer to GB 3836.1-2010 and GB 3836.6-2005, which specifically require the use of electrically non-conductive protective liquids.
