Scope

Scope: This document specifies the technical requirements for edible red ginseng products of the "Fusong Ginseng" brand, including specifications, grades, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and traceability management. This document applies to quality supervision and brand evaluation of "Fusong Ginseng" brand edible red ginseng products. Main technical content: - Grades and specifications: - Grade 4: - 4.1.1 Edible Whole-Needle Red Ginseng: It shall comply with the requirements specified in Table 1. Table 1: Edible Whole-Needle Red Ginseng Grade Items First-grade Second-grade Main root: Shaped like a spindle, cylinder, or flattened column, with a length ≥ 5 cm and diameter ≥ 1 cm. The lower part has several coarse and uniform side roots and curved needles. Overall beard: Complete and intact. Surface: Semi-transparent, reddish-brown, and glossy. Occasional opaque dark yellow-brown spots, longitudinal grooves, wrinkles, and fine root marks on the surface; the upper part may have indistinct annular marks. Texture: Keratin-like, firm, and free of greenish odor. Fragrant with a sweet and slightly bitter taste. No insect damage, mold, or defects; no more than 15% impurities. Note: Second-grade and below are used as edible raw materials for "Fusong Ginseng". - Grade 4.2: - 4.2.1 Edible Whole-Needle Red Ginseng: It shall comply with the requirements specified in Table 3.
