Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for edible raw ginseng products of the "Fusong Ginseng" brand, including specifications, grades, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, and traceability management. This document applies to quality supervision and brand evaluation of edible raw ginseng products of the "Fusong Ginseng" brand. Main technical content: 4. Grades and specifications 4.1 Grades 4.1.1 The grade of edible whole-needle raw ginseng shall comply with the requirements specified in Table 1. Table 1: Grade requirements for edible whole-needle raw ginseng First-grade products Second-grade products Main root - Shaped like a spindle or cylinder, with a length ≥ 5 cm and a diameter ≥ 1 cm. - At the lower part, there are 2-3 thick, evenly twisted and interlaced secondary roots, with numerous slender rootlets attached. - The overall beard must be complete and well-developed. - The surface color is gray-yellow, white, or yellow-white, with sparse shallow horizontal stripes on the upper part or obvious vertical wrinkles overall. - No water rust, grooves, or yellow skin. - The surface color is gray-yellow, white, or yellow-white, with sparse shallow horizontal stripes on the upper part or obvious vertical wrinkles overall. - Mild water rust, grooves, or yellow skin. - The texture is firm, powdery, and non-hollow. - Fragrant aroma, sweet taste, and slight bitterness. - No insect damage, mold, or damage/scars. - No more than 15% impurities. - Products below second-grade shall not be used as edible raw ginseng for the "Fusong Ginseng" brand. 4.1.2 The grade of edible light-needle raw ginseng shall comply with the requirements specified in Table 2.
