Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements, including specifications, grades, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, and traceability management, for the medicinal raw ginseng of the "Fusong Ginseng" brand product. This document is applicable to the quality supervision and brand evaluation of the "Fusong Ginseng" brand product's medicinal raw ginseng. Main technical contents: 4. Grades and specifications 4.1 Grades 4.1.1 The grade of medicinal whole-needle raw ginseng shall comply with Table 1. Table 1: Specifications of medicinal whole-needle raw ginseng First-grade product Second-grade product Main root The main root should be spindle-shaped or cylindrical, with a length ≥ 7 cm and a diameter ≥ 1 cm; there should be 2-3 coarse and uniform side roots at the lower part, and numerous slender rootlets attached to it. The whole root should have complete and intact rootlets. The surface should be gray-yellow, white, or yellow-white, with sparse and shallow horizontal stripes and obvious vertical wrinkles on the upper part or the whole root. No water rust, no hollowing, no yellow skin.
