Scope

This standard specifies the shape and standard dimensions of locking pins, test methods, acceptance conditions for supply, and other dimensions intended only as a guide for manufacturing. This standard applies to the ball-and-socket connections of insulator string components in GB/T 4056 and the locking pins supplied separately with corresponding metal accessories.
When these locking pins are supplied together with insulators or metal accessories, they shall be considered an integral part of the insulators or metal accessories. In this case, the relevant tests shall be included in GB/T 1001.1. When required, a certificate of conformity shall be provided to demonstrate that the locking pins have been tested in accordance with the provisions of this standard. Locking pins are usually supplied together with insulators or corresponding metal accessories.
This standard does not include technical requirements for materials, but it is recommended that the materials should not have a corrosion-resistant surface layer. Additionally, the materials should not cause significant contact corrosion (chemical reaction) between the locking pins and the ball-and-socket connections.
