Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the overview of slicing machines, the description of related hazards, technical requirements, verification of measures, inspection rules, and usage information.
This document is applicable to movable slicing machines equipped with electric circular cutting blades with a diameter greater than 150 mm and reciprocating feeding slides.
Note 1: It is generally used in the catering industry, such as shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and canteens.
Note 2: This type of slicing machines includes:
—— Horizontal feeding slicing machines (manual operation: see Figure 1; or automated operation: see Figure 13);
—— Gravity feeding slicing machines (manual operation: see Figure 2; or automated operation).
This document is not applicable to industrial slicing machines.
Note 3: These types of slicing machines are fixedly installed in a certain position and are typically used in meat processing plants and meat product processing factories.
