Scope

This standard specifies the safety and hygiene requirements for slicing machines.
This standard applies to movable slicing machines equipped with electric circular cutting blades with a diameter of more than 150 mm and reciprocating feeding slides. They are generally used in shops, restaurants, supermarkets, canteens, etc.
This type of slicing machines includes:
——Horizontal feeding slicing machines (manual operation: see Figure 1; or automated operation: see Figure 13);
——Gravity feeding slicing machines (manual operation: see Figure 2; or automated operation).
This standard applies to slicing machines produced after the implementation of this standard.
This standard does not apply to industrial slicing machines. These slicing machines are fixedly installed in a certain position and are typically used in meat processing plants and meat product processing factories.
