Scope
This document concerns the safety of service robots for household and similar purposes used indoors with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V.
Note 101: For other functions such as audio/video, there may be other relevant requirements of other standards that apply.
Note 102: For service robots for household and similar purposes used outdoors, additional requirements are specified in Appendix AA.
For Type 3 household mobile robots and their charging bases, additional requirements are given in Appendices BB and CC.
For service robots for household and similar purposes, this document specifies the common safety issues arising after the application of robot technology. Safety issues arising from the design and functions of the appliance itself should be specified in the special requirements of the GB 4706 series standards. This also means that many service robots for household and similar purposes need to meet all the requirements of GB 4706.1, this document, and the corresponding special requirements of GB 4706 at the same time.
This document does not apply to the following appliances:
——Chargers (GB 4706.18);
——Special requirements for battery-powered automatic lawn mowers (IEC 60335-2-107);
——Medical devices (GB 9706.1);
——Commercial automatic floor treatment machines (IEC 63327);
——Electric hand-held tools, portable tools, and lawn and gardening machinery (GB/T 3883, IEC 61029);
——Appliances designed for corrosive or explosive environments (dust, steam, or gas);
——Road vehicles with a speed of more than 25 km/h.
