Scope

This document specifies the specifications and test methods for unused mineral insulating oil used in oil-filled cables in the delivery state. These cables include hollow cables, pipeline cables, and any other forms of cables with oil flow measures.
This document applies to mineral insulating oil obtained by petroleum distillation and refining, with or without additives.
This document does not apply to mineral insulating oil used in transformers, switches, capacitors, and similar equipment, nor to hydrocarbon insulating oils synthesized by chemical processes.
