Scope

This standard specifies an engineering measurement method for the noise sound power level under free sound field conditions on a reflecting plane and an engineering measurement method for the noise sound power level in a reverberation chamber. In this standard, the measurement of the noise sound power level in a reverberation chamber adopts the moving microphone test method in the standard sound source comparison method, and the multi-point test method is referred to in Appendix A. This standard is applicable to the measurement of the noise sound power level of reciprocating pump units (hereinafter referred to as pump units), including prime movers.
