Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, testing methods, and test reports for the bending strength test of glass materials.
The three-point bending method in this standard is applicable to the bending strength test of brittle materials such as glass.
The four-point bending method in this standard is applicable to the bending strength test of flat glass such as annealed glass, tempered glass, semi-tempered glass, and embossed glass, but it is not applicable to the bending strength test of composite glasses such as laminated glass and hollow glass.
This standard is not applicable to the bending strength test of glass with a thickness of less than 3 mm.
This standard can also be used independently to evaluate the impact of glass edges on bending strength.
