Scope

This document specifies the important dimensions related to the mechanical interchangeability of the EFD-type magnetic cores in the preferred series, as well as the basic dimensions of the coil frames used with these magnetic cores and the effective parameter values used to calculate such magnetic cores. At the same time, in accordance with relevant general specifications, guidelines are provided for the permissible limits of surface defects in EFD-type magnetic cores. The selection of magnetic core specifications in this document is based on the principle that these specifications are determined according to the usage in the industry and may either be included in national standards or be widely used specifications in the industry. This document can be used as a sub-guideline in the consultation between magnetic core manufacturers and users regarding surface defects. Appendix A provides general considerations for the design of such magnetic cores.
