Scope
This standard applies to terminals that are enclosed and open AC disconnect switches and grounding switches designed for installation indoors and outdoors, and operating in systems with a frequency of 50 Hz and a nominal voltage of 3,000 V and above.
This standard also applies to the operating mechanisms and auxiliary equipment of these disconnect switches and grounding switches.
The additional requirements for disconnect switches and grounding switches in enclosed switchgear and control equipment are specified in GB 3906, GB 7674, and IEC 62271201.
