Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the methods and technical requirements for non-destructive quantitative analysis of the chemical composition of gold products using X-ray spectrometers installed on scanning electron microscopes. 1.2 This standard is applicable to the determination of the chemical composition of various pure gold products and K gold products, and is also applicable to the non-destructive determination of the chemical composition of the surface layer of gold-plated, gold-clad, and forged gold products with a gold layer thickness of more than 0.2 μm and less than 3 μm. 1.3 This standard is applicable to the quantitative analysis of elements with a mass fraction of 0.1% to 100% in gold products. This standard is also applicable to the analysis of gold products using X-ray spectrometers installed on electron probe analyzers.
