Scope

This part of GB 2099 applies to plugs and fixed or mobile sockets used indoors or outdoors, for household and similar purposes, intended only for AC power, with a rated voltage of more than 50 V but not exceeding 440 V, and a rated current of not more than 32 A, with or without grounding contacts.
For fixed sockets equipped with non-threaded terminals, the maximum rated current is limited to 16 A.
This part does not include requirements for concealed installation boxes: it only includes the requirements for exposed installation boxes necessary for testing the sockets.
