Scope
This standard specifies the diameter dimensions of blanks before cold heading and rolling of ordinary threads. The nominal diameter range of ordinary threads is 1 mm to 52 mm (diameters of series 1 and 2; the maximum pitch is 4 mm); the thread tolerances include four grades: 4h, 6h, 6g, 6f, and 6e. This standard applies to ordinary threads made from carbon steel and alloy steel materials using the full-tooth extrusion process. Note: The "full-tooth extrusion process" refers to a processing method in which the thread material completely fills the tooth bottom space of the tool during thread extrusion forming.
