Scope

This standard applies to low-voltage reactive power compensation devices that compensate and adjust the power factor of the grid at an AC frequency of 50 Hz and a rated voltage of 1 kV or less. The device is equipped with switchgear and related control equipment to enable the connection or disconnection of capacitors from the main power supply circuit, thereby adjusting its power factor.
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, marking, design, installation and operation, safety, test methods, and transportation of low-voltage reactive power compensation devices.
Unless otherwise specified, the low-voltage reactive power compensation devices used hereinafter shall comply with the requirements of GB 7251.1 and GB 7251.3.
