Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, operating procedures, result calculation and presentation, and precision for the determination of fatty acid values in grains and oils.
The benzene extraction method in this standard is suitable for determining the fatty acid values in grains such as wheat flour; the petroleum ether extraction method is suitable for determining the fatty acid values in soybean, peanut, rapeseed, walnut, sesame, sunflower seed, and corn germ.
This standard is not applicable to the determination of fatty acid values in other oils.
