Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, materials, design, manufacturing requirements, and test methods for safety devices in the form of bursting discs used in gas cylinders, as well as inspection rules, marking, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage, factory documents, and usage requirements. This standard applies to safety devices in the form of bursting discs used in various types of gas cylinders that are filled with compressed gases, high (low) pressure liquefied gases, cryogenic liquefied gases, adsorbed gases, and liquids with a standard boiling point of 60 °C or lower, as well as mixed gases (two or more gases).
