Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic structural types and models, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of cylinder valves used in air breathing apparatuses (hereinafter referred to as "valves"). This standard applies to cylinder valves used in air breathing apparatuses operating in an ambient temperature range of -40 °C to +60 °C, with a nominal working pressure not exceeding 30 MPa. This standard does not apply to medical or diving breathing apparatus cylinder valves.
