GB/T 35205.1-2025 Rough-terrain trucks—Safety requirements and verification—Part 1:Variable-reach trucks
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the general safety requirements for off-road non-rotating telescopic boom forklifts (hereinafter referred to as "forklifts"). These forklifts have an integral frame and are equipped with telescopic lifting devices (articulated booms), which are usually fitted with material handling devices (such as forks with cargo forks). The forks and other integral attachments are considered to be part of the forklift.
Note: These forklifts are also known as forklift trucks or telescopic boom forklift trucks.
In this document, forklifts are designed for transporting, lifting, and placing goods, and can operate on uneven terrain. The forklift can also be equipped with various carrying and non-carrying attachments or replaceable equipment (such as forks, bale forks, mowers, sweepers).
Except for the relevant provisions of this document, other documents apply to these attachments.
This document does not apply to the following:
a) Industrial telescopic boom forklifts covered by ISO 3691-2;
b) Machines primarily designed for earthmoving operations (such as loaders), even if their buckets are replaced with forks (see ISO 20474-3);
c) Forklifts with articulated frames;
d) Machines (mobile cranes) designed to be mainly carried by lifting suspension components of variable length (such as steel ropes, chains), with the load able to swing freely in all directions;
e) Vehicles equipped with personnel/work platforms, designed to lift people to corresponding work positions;
f) Vehicles primarily designed for container handling.
