Scope
This standard specifies the mechanical and electrical properties of hard aluminum round wires with a nominal diameter range of 1.25 mm to 5.00 mm and hard aluminum profiled wires with a nominal equivalent diameter range of 2.00 mm to 6.00 mm. Hard aluminum wires are divided into four resistance grades, which are respectively denoted by L, L1, L2, and L3. The cross-sectional shapes are divided into two categories: round wires and profiled wires. This standard applies to hard aluminum wires used for overhead transmission lines.
